Governance Administration Support Officer - Part time

  • Workdays include every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Join the City of Bunbury as a Governance Administration Support Officer and contribute to effective local government operations.


You will play a key role in supporting the Governance Team by preparing Council agendas and minutes, maintaining statutory registers, coordinating Elected Member legislative training, and providing essential administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, distribute, and take minutes for Council meetings and briefings.
  • Attend council meetings on Tuesday evenings - finishing at approximately 6:30PM.
  • Maintain and monitor actions arising from Council decisions.
  • Provide information to the public regarding Council meetings and governance matters.
  • Manage the Elected Member portal and governance page on the City's website.
  • Process Elected Member reimbursements.
  • Coordinate legislative training for Elected Members and maintain training records.
  • Assist with the coordination of local government elections.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience: in administration, ideally in a governance or local government setting.
  • Skills: strong organisational skills, advanced computer and word processing skills.
  • Knowledge: strong knowledge of meeting procedures, and ability to take accurate minutes.
  • Attributes: Excellent communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ideally: You also have a developing knowledge of local government organisational structure, function and protocols.
