Ranger / Fire Control Officer

  • Competitive Salary: Level 4 $85,560.80 per year + 12% superannuation

  • Matched Super contributions up to 5%

Are you passionate about protecting your community and natural environment? We're looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as Ranger/Fire Control Officer. Help us uphold community safety, environmental conservation, and fire prevention across our beautiful region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce local laws and regulations related to Animal Control, Bushfire Control, Parking, Control of Vehicles, Litter, Caravan and Camping and Council Local Laws.
  • Educate the community on responsible land and fire management practices.
  • Conduct firebreak inspections, issue permits, and assist with fire prevention planning.
  • Respond to incidents and work closely with emergency services and local stakeholders.
  • Support the coordination of controlled burns and emergency fire responses as needed.

About You

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for community engagement.
  • Sound knowledge of fire prevention, emergency response, and relevant local government regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Completion of Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 & 2 (formerly known as Municipal Law A & B) or equivalent qualifications highly desirable.
  • Current driver's licence (essential).
  • Flexibility and availability to work weekends on a rotating roster, as operational needs require.
