- Competitive Salary: Level 6 $101,013.12 (pro rata) + 12% superannuation
- Permanent Part Time (45 hours per fortnight)
- Full Time (76 Hours per fortnight) available for first 12 months
- Matched Super contributions up to 5%

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Planning Officer to join our Statutory Planning team and help us deliver high-quality planning outcomes for our community.
About the Role
As a Planning Officer, you will assess and manage a range of development applications, provide professional planning advice, and ensure compliance with relevant planning legislation and policies. You'll work closely with internal departments, developers, community stakeholders, and councillors to support effective and balanced planning decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end processing of development applications, subdivision referrals, structure plans, local development plans, and scheme amendments in line with the relevant planning framework.
- Prepare clear, concise, and timely reports for Council meetings, panels, and tribunals; attend Council briefings, Regional Development Assessment Panels, and provide evidence at the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) as required.
- Provide accurate and timely advice to applicants, the public, and internal stakeholders on planning matters.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in planning processes and customer service delivery.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
- Tertiary qualification related to Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the legislative responsibility and processes that relate to urban planning and local government.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and report-writing abilities.
- Ability to effectively plan, organise and manage own time and workload, and competing priorities.
